Banjo Tooie >> Beginning Areas

:.Back To Banjo-Tooie Guide Main

The game begins with Banjo and Kazooie outside their house next to Spiral Mountain. Scattered throughout the area are molehills that will review their basic moves (ignore if you are familiar with the original game).

The tunnel that Gruntilda and her sisters escaped through is where you will encounter your first boss fight, Klungo. This is a fairly easy battle, as Klungo will fall into a pattern of using a shield and being vulnerable to your attacks. His potion, however, will lead to one of three attack variations:

1) Multiple Klungos - he will spilt himself into2 different Klungo’s, only one of which is real. You can identify him from his slightly different color from the imposter Klungos. After he turns on his shield and attempts to attack you, he will once again create clones, first 2 and then 3. After 3 hits he will leave.

2) Giant Klungo - Klungo will grow large from the potion, and attempt to squish you. Just wait until he is stationary, and attack him, then avoid his shield stage of attacks. Do this three times to defeat him.

3) Invisible Klungo - Klungo will turn invisible after drinking the potion, but this will wear off and allow you to attack him. Avoid him during his shield stage, and hit him three times to send him packing.

After the fight, walk through the tunnel to reach Jinjo Village. In the center of town you will see King Jingaling’s palace. Enter and speak with the king, who will explain the plight of the jinjos and your reward for finding them in the various worlds of the game. He will give you your first Jiggy, which will open up Jiggywiggy’s temple. After you leave him, Grunty will appear and transform the King into a zombie. Enter Bottle’s house, and speak to his family to obtain the Amaze-O-Glaze glasses, and gain entrance to the path to Jiggywiggy’s temple. Inside, Jiggywiggy will have you complete a very easy puzzle (just place the missing pieces where they fit into the picture). He will then open up your first area of the game, Mayahem Temple (right next to Jiggywiggy’s place).
